We are committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment, not only for our employees, but all those affected by our activities. Operations are carried out so as to ensure that the safety of any person or property will not be compromised.
J&A is actively committed to the provision of strong and active leadership in such matters. We engage our workforce in the promotion and achievement of safe and healthy conditions, and in the formal assessment and review of our performance. J&A provides the necessary resources, information and training to ensure that the management and workforce team can deliver the objectives set for continuous improvement, and in parallel with the policies of our clients.
Safety & Health
Our employees are our most valuable asset, and their safety and well-being is paramount. Each employee is part of our Safety Team, helping to identify, report, and correct issues in order to protect themselves and their teammates.
Our formal Employee/Management Safety Committee directly links our field employees with company leadership. These quarterly meetings and our in-house training modules bring employees at every level together. Working together as a team is the key ingredient to maintaining an effective safety culture. Cooperation between management, employees, subcontractors and clients is essential in meeting the goals of our Health & Safety Program.

Incentive programs
The J&A Safety Director coordinates the training, development of procedures, inspection, enforcement and code compliance for our projects.
As members of professional associations we benefit from the latest training developments and opportunities. Our in-house OSHA authorized trainer and our licensed Concrete Safety Managers enhance our training and inspection regimen helping us meet and exceed safety requirements on all our projects.
Our in-house training sessions are conducted at the company HQ, plus modules are conducted directly onsite. Fall protection training and refreshers are a regular aspect of the Program.
Compliance with local regulations is enforced, monitored and enhanced by continuous training, development of site-specific controls and enforcement of established procedures.
The J&A Safety Director and our Employee/Management Safety Committee assess our policies, programs, and procedures, taking action to ensure they keep pace with changes in the nature of operations, personnel, technology, government regulations, industry standards, and best practices.

Since J&A was founded in 1971, we have kept quality at as a cornerstone of our philosophy. This focus has enabled us to develop and sustain long-term relationships with our clients throughout the region. Our ability to consistently deliver quality and the assurance of conformity which meets customer and regulatory requirements has strengthened our success.
Our commitment to quality is expressed through every element of our operation, as well as in the way our teams deal with clients, as an inherent part of our day- to-day business. Our aim is to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of methods, scheduling, engineering and communication, including processes for continual improvement of our quality systems.
As members of our team, employee participation in quality control is sought and rewarded, including the introduction of new ideas. Through this team effort quality improvement serves as a catalyst for improved productivity. Parallel to our philosophy on health and safety, we consider that quality is the outcome of excellent systems and behaviors. Therefore, training in new developments in the industry is conducted and evaluated continuously.
The most efficient and up-to-date engineering programs and project management tools are fully utilized and updated to maximize internal efficiency and optimize compatibility with our clients.
Our fleet of construction equipment is constantly modernized to integrate with the diverse conditions and environments we operate in.
All aspects of quality control are continuously reviewed, including the estimating and planning phase, engineering and design, document control, procurement, field inspection and testing, right through to inspection of the final product.
Sustainability
J&A employs the latest developments in technology and methods to fulfill our responsibility to the communities in which we operate by working in a manner that is safe and sustainable. We believe we must provide new structures in a manner that minimizes the detrimental effects on the environment.
We are proud of our record of achievement in sustainable construction through our continued involvement in numerous LEED Certified projects utilizing sustainable green building and development practices. Over the past 2 decades we have had the opportunity to develop our expertise on sustainable commercial buildings, medical facilities, institutional projects.
At J&A we are committed to utilizing innovative and cost-effective methods of enhancing and better protecting the natural environment; minimizing construction's impact on the consumption of energy and natural resources while making construction more profitable and competitive.
